Rudy Giuliani A.K.A. THE TRAITOR

Posted in Every Damn Post, Hypopcrisy, Idiots, Politics & Politicians, Sports, You Suck on October 29th, 2007

So Rudy, whom I used to watch with interest and actually had respect for has decided to fly his ‘POLITICAL WHORE’ flag high and clear. And to think I even helped out on his mayoral campaign when he was just starting his run for that office in New York City. If ever there was a fake, phoney two faced politician you can add this guy to the top of the list. Hey Rudy, rooting for the Red Sox to win the World Series??? (And yes, they did win last night, congratulations though I was hoping you would lose…) Back to my point, Rudy don’t insult the rest of us by ever calling yourself a Yankees fan. You are a political hack and you my friend have lost the respect of New Yorkers as well as sports fans and voters everywhere . If you can’t even stand behind for your (supposedly) baseball team during this dark hour how can we trust you to stand your ground running one of the largest most powerful countries on the planet. Typical politician. Typical disappointment.

It’s always a sad day when someone, anyone let’s you down showing their true colors. The signs & stories were always there I guess. Clues being constantly dropped in the media about this character but I guess I just chose to ignore them. I wanted to believe in him because I was somewhat drawn to Rudy The Traitor. So I overlooked reality and kept on applauding and believing in this guy. Well no more. There are some things you don’t mess with and this is one of them. Rudy Giuliani will do anything to try and scrape votes. He is so smug and thinks the rest of us are clueless. I’m so sorry to learn this way that that you are so spineless sir. I hope your fellow Boston Red Sox fans help you on your political journey. No actually that was sarcastic. I hope you and your campaign hit dirt. Please go away…. I for one will never vote for you.

Some might read this and think it is some kind of joke. That’s because you are not a Yankees fan (or a Red Sox fan for that matter) and you would never understand. Being one (the former) I understand from the heart that Rudy is no Yankees fan and has been masquerading all along. No Yankees fan in his right mind would ever say he or she wanted the Boston Red Sox to win the World Series or visa versa. It is incomprehensible (unless you are a politician) then nothing is. A momentary lapse of sanity or political whoring? You decide, I already have…

GO Rockies GO!!!

Posted in Deep Thoughts (not really), Every Damn Post, Sports on October 23rd, 2007

Once again I must revert back to my trusty October mantra, ‘anyone but Boston… anyone but Boston…’. Hopefully this 2007 World Series will prove to be exciting, intense and inspiring. Hopefully the Colorado Rockies will spank the Red Sox and take the series so I can enjoy the winter months and look forward to opening day 2008.

And finally, hopefully the Yankees can ponder this past season and the one before that and so on and so on and start to get their act together. No more excuses boys. How about earning those outrageous salaries with some good old fashioned hustle and pride… Too many non chalant egos crammed into one locker room and not enough young bloods. Where’s the hunger to win? Where’s the appreciation for the life and career that you’ve attained. Yankees fans deserve more than a song and a dance and they certainly deserve more championships than they’ve seen recently.

The ‘elite’ group of arrogant senators who on taxpayer dime took the time to forge and sign a letter full of elaborations and fabrications. This document was sent to the employer of Rush Limbaugh in an effort to get him censored and possibly fired. Pathetic.

Is it any surprise that the American people are sick of these pompus assholes?

Lee Bollinger

Now I know this is ‘old’ news, by todays standards, but I just have to say my piece…

Is this academic snob for real? After rolling out the red carpet for the President of Iran to speak at Columbia University, Mr. Bollinger goes ahead and bashes his ‘guest’ while introducing him? How rude.

I watched you speak Lee. You came off as a wanna be tough guy and a classless back stabber. You are probably the only person on earth who could actually make the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad shine and look good! If controvery is a problem for you to handle with character then by all means don’t create it unnecessarily.

To be an ‘extreme’ anything takes guts. Left or right it doesn’t matter. Sir, if you want to be a flaming liberal so be it. Next time though have the guts to support your decisions and actions with some passion and strength. You have shown yourself to be a true coward and hypocrite.

If you haven’t learned at your age that it is unwise and impossible to try and keep everyone happy all the time then you sir are a little slow.

Is there really any experience more amazing or rewarding?

I doubt it very much.

Sen. Larry Craig (you know, the guy who’s not gay. [wink wink, nod nod])

Posted in Blogroll, Deep Thoughts (not really), Every Damn Post, Hypopcrisy, Idiots, Politics & Politicians, Sex, Drugs & Rock 'n' Roll, You Suck on October 9th, 2007

For crying out loud is this hypocritical asshat for real? So now he is not going to step down as promised. I guess Larry feels he hasn’t done enough damage to his reputation or that of his political affiliations. Ego maniacs never cease to amaze me.

Buddy we’ve all seen your ‘a bad boy – naughty boy… even a nasty, bad, naughty boy’ rant against Bill Clinton on the show Hardball. We know where you are hiding. Come out of the closet Senator and love yourself. It’s ok to be gay if you are. This isn’t Iran after all… Your worst offense is for being a hypocrite not for being gay.

This is quoted from the notes of a police sting operation officer who was engaged by Larry Craig in the men’s bathroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport:

At 1216 hours, Craig tapped his right foot. I recognized this as a signal used by persons wishing to engage in lewd conduct. Craig tapped his toes several times and moves his foot closer to my foot. … The presence of others did not seem to deter Craig as he moved his right foot so that it touched the side of my left foot which was within my stall area. Craig then proceeded to swipe his left hand under the stall divider several times, with the palm of his hand facing upward.

And please if we are ever sitting side by side in an airport bathroom doing what men do Senator, don’t even think of tapping your shoes against mine.

I will leave you with a quote from Larry Craig taken from an interview done in May of 2007 regarding the numerous allegations of the Senator’s less than kosher behavior:

“I’m not gay, and I don’t cruise, and I don’t hit on men… I don’t go around anywhere hitting on men, and by God, if I did, I wouldn’t do it in Boise, Idaho! Jiminy!”

“Jiminy”??? HA HA HA…

Joe Torre

Posted in Blogroll, Childhood Memories, Deep Thoughts (not really), Every Damn Post, Fatherhood, Good Peeps, Sports on October 9th, 2007

Growing up as a kid in the 1970’s & 80’s I have to admit it has been an adjustment. Losing games is not easy for Yankees fans and not winning the World Series is even harder. But not even getting to the ‘party’…. That has taken some getting used to. Over time you start to get used to odd and unpleasant situations if you must. It’s like a numbness that sets in to protect you at the core. When I watch my team play I still believe, hope and dream but there is always that shadow lurking that allows the doubt to linger. And now matter how much I want to believe that the current team ‘has it’, deep down inside I know it isn’t true.

I don’t have a lot to say about the players. There is a whole lot of talent on the bench this season as well as last season and the one before that but let’s be honest. They don’t get the job done. I’m not really interested in the ‘amazing’ mid-season surge that got the Yanks back into the race for October. ‘We’ shouldn’t have been so deep in the hole to begin with. I am much more curious or should I say purplexed at the lack of ability for these athletes to get it together and close. They are unable to ‘close the deal’ and that is frustrating. We could debate for years over why. Ego? Lack of heart? Bad Chemistry? I won’t even include injuries because every team deals with that and it is a lame excuse when examining things as a whole.

There has been one constant through the last decade plus for all Yankees and Yankees fans to appreciate. The class and mild yet strong demeanor of Torre has brought a balance to the team. An ‘old school’ Yankee feeling to the team that reminds us all why we still root for our team and believe and spend endless afternoons and nights knowing why it is we love this thing called the Yankees. That feeling that makes father’s dream and believe that someday just maybe their boy will play for the Bombers.

Anyone who grew up cheering the Yanks will never jump ship. It’s a part of you, like an arm or a leg. No matter how bad it gets the fans remain constant and their loyalty does not waiver. Do we get disappointed? Yes we do! Angry, upset? Of course! However, though managers and players will come and go The Yankees and their fans will always be. Because we do believe.

Mr. Joe Torre, thanks for reminding this Yankees fan why I still believe and what it means to be part of the Yankees family. Good luck to you whatever life brings whether in the Bronx or elsewhere and thanks for the memories. Those I get to keep and cherish always…
